Description:
Birch veneered on softwood.
Arched basic form.
Two-door base with one shelf. Open middle compartment.
Two-door top with two shelves. Original glazing with six partly original panes.
Good to know:
Particularly popular woods of the Biedermeier period were cherry, walnut and mahogany, but also very vividly grained woods such as ash or in this case birch.
Polishing with shellac really brings out the flamed grain of the wood.
Condition:
Restored condition ready for living. Free of worm infestation.
