Fits are pivoting fittings that are used to hang furniture doors. The advantage of these external hinges is that the door mounted with this hinge can usually be opened by 180°.

Fitted hinges can be found, among other things, in Baroque antiques. In the Biedermeier period, external hinges were often dispensed with because they interfered with the pure wood look of the piece of furniture.
