Sabot

A sabot is an edging for furniture legs. It is usually made of precious metal and protects the wood in the lowest part of the leg. Artfully decorated, sabots naturally also provide a visual refinement of the antique.

The word sabot comes from the French and can best be translated as hoof or shoe.
