Feston

The festoon is one of the typical decorative elements of classicism. It is a garland-shaped decorative motif that is often decorated with flowers, leaves and fruits. The ribbons of the garland often form a bow, wound crosswise at the end.

In antique furniture, the festoon is found, among other things, as inlay work or carving on the furniture fronts.
Fittings such as handles or key plates were often decorated with festoons cast from bronze.
