Fillet tape

Filet band or filet marquetry is the term we use to describe light and dark veneer surfaces placed diagonally against each other.
If these are laid together to form narrow veneer veins of usually less than 2 mm, we speak of a fillet band. This technique is used to accentuate larger veneered surfaces.

Filet marquetry is often found on antique furniture from the classicist period.
