Tooth frieze

The tooth frieze is a decorative element typically found on classicist furniture. It consists of individual rectangular or square wooden plates which, when put together at regular intervals, form a band. Because of the square cross-section of the individual pieces of wood, the tooth frieze is also called a cube moulding.

Toothed friezes are mainly found below the edge of panels on chests of drawers or below cornices on cupboards.
