Rolleau closure

A Rolleau latch is a latch composed of individual slats that is flexible and can thus be opened around a corner or a radius.

This technique is often used in Dutch corner cabinets of the classicist period.

However, we also find it as a quarter-circle-shaped latch on secretaries, which opens when the writing tablet is pulled out.
Due to the round shape, we also speak of a cylinder latch in this case. This is particularly common on Louis XVI and Biedermeier furniture.
