Description:
Birch veneered secretary standing on solid block feet. The flanking solid columns and the key plates in the shape of coats of arms are ebonised and contrast beautifully with the light wood.

The structure of the piece of furniture consists of three drawers at the bottom, the writing flap above and another wide drawer at the top. The top is finished off with a slightly protruding profile moulding, the Schinkel gable and a double-stepped, oval-shaped top. The top is removable and conceals a secret compartment.
The width of 110 cm is measured at the widest point in the cornice. The width of the corpus is approx. 100 cm.

The interior of the secretaire has four drawers, one on top of the other, in birch veneer on the left and right.
The centre is formed by a double-winged door with a mirrored compartment behind. Below the door is a narrow drawer without handles, above it is a wide drawer divided into three parts. The blackened crosspieces set beautiful accents.

Both the segmentation visible on the lowest drawer and the outer surface of the writing flap, as well as the round worked cornice, are typical of furniture making in the Brandenburg area in the period around 1820-1830.

Piece of furniture refurbished ready to live in. Very nice condition. All drawers work perfectly. The locks work.
