Braided ribbon

We call a braided ribbon an intertwined ribbon that forms endlessly interconnected circles or ovals. The individual circles can be additionally filled with rosettes, the individual ovals with beads.

The woven band serves as a design element that decorates the horizontal or vertical axis of a piece of furniture.

In antique cabinets, we find this ornamentation on pilaster strips and battens.
