Description:
Very richly inlaid and marked piece of furniture.
Part-bonised baluster base, curved legs with so-called leg shoulder inlay.
Marked plate rim. Fillet band on the frame.
Fine geometric marquetry of maple, mahogany, walnut and other precious woods on the octagonal table top.
Condition:
Restored to living room standard. Shellac polish.
Fun Facts:
The town of Sorrento near Naples was famous for its woodworking workshops in the mid-19th century. This table is absolutely typical of the area.
