Cherry tree
Biedermeier around 1820
Dimensions: H x W x D: 86 x 98 x 54 cm
Description:
Small and fine Biedermeier chest of drawers from Franconia with a fantastic cherry wood grain pattern.
Characteristic are the numerous ebonisations, which stand in stark contrast to the warm colour of the wood. The pointed legs, plinth frame and panel edge, half-columns and key plates are blackened, as is the frame of the upper drawer, which, veneered in burl wood, breaks up the strict symmetry of the front of the furniture.
Large and original box locks are mounted in the lower drawers. The lock on the centre drawer also locks the top drawer.
The sides of the chest of drawers are also veneered in mirror image.
Condition:
Restored condition suitable for everyday use with a shellac hand polish. The drawers run cleanly and smoothly, the locks work.
Price: 3000,-€
