Sandstein Verlag, 2022. ISBN 978-3-95498-135-9.

This publication is dedicated to the Leipzig cabinetmaker and manufactory owner Friedrich Gottlob Hoffmann, one of the most important furniture makers of German classicism. It offers a comprehensive overview of his work, his workshop organisation and his design practice. It is based on over one hundred pieces of furniture from public and private collections that could be attributed to Hoffmann's workshop.

A detailed biography and accompanying articles present Hoffmann's context as a court carpenter to the Elector of Saxony and place him close to David Roentgen in terms of craftsmanship. Of particular importance are two illustrated catalogues of goods from 1789 and 1795, which are considered the first of their kind in the German-speaking world. Extensive pictorial documentation, detailed technical analyses and stylistic classifications make the work a central source for the study of classicist furniture art in Saxony.
