Enrico Colle - I mobili di Palazzo Pitti 1800–1846

I mobili di Palazzo Pitti. Il secondo periodo lorenese 1800-1846. I ducati di Lucca, Parma e Modena.
Firenze: Centro Di, 2010. (Centro Di cat. 345)

This volume is part of the five-volume series I Mobili di Palazzo Pitti, which documents the entire furniture inventory of the Florentine residence across several ruling dynasties. This fourth volume in the series presents the results of a comprehensive scientific survey, which includes archival studies and extensive photographic documentation. The focus is on furniture that is now kept in the Florentine court residences, but was originally made between 1800 and 1846 for the ducal palaces of Lucca, Parma and Modena. The majority of this furniture, predominantly in the Empire style, came to Florence through dynastic transfers after the incorporation of the Duchy of Lucca into the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and after the unification of Italy.
The book contains over two hundred illustrated catalogue entries, arranged according to the respective courts, as well as an appendix with a detailed index of the craftsmen working for the Lorraine administration in Florence and for the Bourbons in Lucca.
