Louis XVI cylindrical chest of drawers in walnut

West Germany
Walnut u.a.

Dimensions: H x W x D: 112 x 96 x 62 cm

Description:
Writing furniture standing on tapered square legs.

In the high frame there are two drawers, one above the other and worked "sans traverse". The fronts are divided into three areas by thread inlays and pearl cords.
The central area is decorated with partly coloured floral marquetry. The lock closes upwards and downwards and thus also locks the lower drawer.
The pilaster strips are also fielded with visual surface extensions on the fronts of the front legs.

The writing superstructure tapers semicircularly upwards. To open it, pull out the writing surface by the two brass knobs, and the quarter-cylindrical roller lock opens automatically.
The interior consists of six drawers and four open compartments.

When the work is done, a closed laptop can be pushed into the piece of furniture together with the writing surface.

Condition:
Restored and in good condition for everyday use. The work surface is stable, the drawers run cleanly and smoothly. The fittings of the large drawers are not original but stylistically appropriate.

Price: This secretaire is no longer available. However, I have similar pieces of furniture in my range. Not all of them can be found online, please feel free to contact me.
