Description:
Four-drawer chest of drawers with a neatly laid grain pattern and wonderful patina.

The three lower drawers are flanked by curved pilasters. Fire-gilt fittings in the form of shells, flowers and acanthus leaves adorn the upper ends. The keyholes are framed by cornucopias filled to bursting with flowers and fruit.
The upper drawer is not recognisable as such at first glance. Curving upwards and widening, it forms the cornice of the chest of drawers. The drawer can be easily opened using the recessed grips in the crosspiece, so that it does not require handles or pull rings. The recessed grips are clearly visible in one of the photos.

The upper end is formed by a slab of Belgian granite, which corresponds exactly to the size of the carcass, i.e. there is no overhanging slab.
If we move the plate slightly to the side, we find a label from 1916, which documents the transport from Montpellier to Beroy.

Condition:
Restored piece of furniture with the patina preserved. The wood and fittings have been gently cleaned without altering the colour that has developed over the decades. Signs of age and use have been largely preserved and conserved. The piece of furniture is technically in perfect condition. The construction is absolutely stable. The drawers run cleanly and smoothly, the locks work. The handles of the bottom drawer have been replaced.
