Liegnitz ring table

Liegnitz (Josef Seiler workshop)
Oak
1920s

Dimensions: height 78 cm, diameter 110 cm - 155 cm

Description:
This extraordinary dining table from the 1920s has the rare ability to increase its diameter.
By means of an ingenious mechanism, the frame is first turned down via a thread. Now eight segments, which fit snugly around the table, can be turned out.
The table stands on a square base and is partly made of solid oak, partly veneered in oak.

Josef Seiler ran a furniture workshop in Liegnitz, now in Poland, which at that time belonged to Silesia. He developed and patented the mechanism of the table shown here in the 1920s. The piece of furniture was made in various sizes in small series.

Condition:
The table was originally in a very dark colour. In the course of restoration, the dark stain was removed and the natural oak colour is now visible.
The surface is oiled and suitable for everyday use.

Price: This table is no longer available. Please contact me if you are looking for a comparable piece of furniture!
