Unusual round coffee table with hidden bar.

The column-like base with a stepped plinth supports the circular top, the centre section of which can be unlocked by a lever hidden behind the frame and which then rises automatically. Driven gently and at a constant speed by a spring mechanism, the mechanism requires no electrical power.
The bar compartment has five recesses in which glasses and bottles can be safely placed.

The piece of furniture has been painstakingly restored, newly veneered and weighted in the base for an absolutely stable stand. The beautiful and calm grain changes in the play of light and runs across both parts of the top. The black of the plinth panels, the edge of the top and the bar shelf form an interesting contrast to the warm colour of the wood.

Condition:
Refurbished condition with an oiled surface that can be wiped with a damp cloth. The mechanism works perfectly. The piece of furniture is stable and suitable for everyday use.
