Description:
Pair of elegant figural candelabra in gilt and patinated bronze.
Figures standing on bases cast in rocailles, so-called bon sauvages or noble savages.
The male figure carries a spear, the female is armed with bow and arrow. Both are dressed only with a breast band and a loincloth. With their heads slightly turned upwards, they carry the candle holder in front of them like torches.
The patination of the bodies and hair contrasts with the gilded parts.
Condition: Cleaned condition. Bronze casting without shrinkage.
