Dimensions: H x W x D: 145 x 103 x 57 cm
Description:
Writing desk with three drawers at the bottom, the writing flap above and a head drawer at the top, standing on pedestalled ashlar feet. The level of the head drawer protrudes above the rest of the furniture body and is supported by two ebonised columns with brass bases and capitals.
The wildly veined grain pattern of the ash veneer is neatly mirrored and harmoniously laid on both the sides and the front.
Opening the writing flap reveals an interestingly designed interior with seven drawers and three open compartments under round arches. Above this is a multifaceted letter tray, supported by four small columns that organise the interior vertically. The writing and work surface is polished black.
There is an old, illegible shipping label on the two-part back panel of the furniture, which is designed as a frame construction.
Condition:
Very beautiful, restored condition with a classic shellac hand polish.
Price: This secretary is already sold. I offer similar objects for about 6000,-€ to 7000,-€.
