Enrico Colle - I mobili di Palazzo Pitti 1737–1799

I mobili di Palazzo Pitti. Il primo periodo lorenese 1737-1799.
Firenze: Centro Di / Umberto Allemandi & C., 1992.
(Edizione in brossura per il Museo degli Argenti, Palazzo Pitti.)

This volume documents the furniture of the Palazzo Pitti from the first Lorraine period between 1737 and 1799.
The introduction by Kirsten Aschengreen Piacenti is followed by extensive art-historical contributions by Enrico Colle, including the "Diario di corte", which describes the courtly commissioning practices of the period. Colour plates and a detailed catalogue make the furniture collections of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and the Duchy of Parma accessible. The work also contains a list of the craftsmen who worked for the Lorraine court between 1737 and 1799, as well as inventories, archival documents and a bibliography. The publication was realised with images from Florentine archives and was sponsored by the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze.
