The third and concluding volume of the inventory catalogue Die Möbel der Residenz München documents the development of courtly furnishing culture from Empire to Biedermeier and late Classicism. The focus is on the furnishings of the Munich Residence in the time of Max I Joseph and King Ludwig I, with furniture from Munich, Vienna and Paris.

The work contains 161 extensively annotated catalogue numbers - including numerous outstanding works by important workshops of the early 19th century. Particularly noteworthy is the inclusion of Leo von Klenze's furniture designs for the first time. The art-historical categorisation is based on comprehensive provenance research, usage analysis and stylistic evaluation.

The book offers an excellently documented overview of courtly furniture art and represents an indispensable source for research into the history of furniture in southern Germany in the early 19th century.
