Louis XVI style around 1880

Dimensions: H x W x D: 110 x 93 x 42 cm

Description:
Single door cabinet in the finest quality of French Historicism.

The piece of furniture stands on round feet with bronze fittings.
High rectangular corpus with rich bronze fittings on the front. Typical Louis XVI design elements are depicted. For example, a mascaron in the lower door area, rosettes on top as well as laurel garlands and acanthus vines on the pilasters. The bronzes are finely detailed and in excellent condition of the original fire gilding. The interplay of bright and matt gilding gives the bronze a fantastic effect of depth. This can be seen clearly in the photo, which shows the upper part of the pilaster.

The front and sides of the piece of furniture are also decorated with very high quality brass edge profiles that run seamlessly across corners. Parquet surface designs and brightly contrasting thread inlays are further typical features of the classicist style.

The door front is dominated by a magnificent bouquet of flowers standing in a vase. The finest woods such as rosewood, satinwood and amaranth were used.

The upper finish is a finely veined red marble top framed by a brass frame.

Condition:
Excellent and restored condition. The wood as well as the bronzes and the marble top are impeccably preserved.

Price: 4800,-€
