Cherry tree
Biedermeier around 1820
Dimensions: H x W x D: 88 x 46 x 47 cm Seat height: 47 cm
Description:
Beautiful and authentic set of eight identical Biedermeier chairs.
The legs are slightly curved flared, the back ones extend upwards in a simple and strict way and thus form the supports of the backrest.
The legs and the frame are made of solid cherry wood, as is the curved back board. This is additionally veneered in cherry on the front. The mirrored and symmetrical grain pattern that results from the veneer on the backrest makes the chair appear even more calm and absolutely coherent in itself.
Beautiful, round carved detail on the upper, outer ends of the backrest.
Older horsehair upholstery fabric.
Condition:
Very beautiful condition, restored while preserving the patina. Warm wood colour, naturally matured over the decades. The existing upholstery including the horsehair upholstery fabric has been preserved and reinforced from below.
