Alabaster

Alabaster is a mineral plaster that found its sculptural use in reliefs, busts and sculptures.
Alabaster resembles white marble, but is not as hard and weather-resistant. Therefore, it was and is only used indoors.

In antique furniture we find columns, half-columns and pilasters made of alabaster.
