Description:
Antique weather station, so-called bakbarometer.
Mahogany veneered with fillet bands and partly fire shaded marquetry.
High rectangular corpus with a sprung pediment.
Behind the hinged glass pane is the engraved tin plate with several scales from Orcaan to Heel Schoon and from Groote Droogte to Storm.
Signed: "Martinnis Bazerga Rotterdam".
By rising and falling of the mercury or alcohol columns in the glass tubes, temperature and air pressure can be read.
Temperature measurement in Fahrenheit and Réaumur. Engravings in Dutch.
Condition: Authentic condition, old restored. Glass tubes and liquid levels intact.
