Antique home bar – known as a ‘Cave à Liqueur’

Description:
French liqueur cabinet from the Napoleon III period, made in the 1860s–1880s.

The box, resting on four round feet, is entirely ebonised and adorned with inlays of brass, mother-of-pearl and rosewood. It features frame-like thread inlays as well as naturalistic designs of tendrils and flowers. The central area on the top of the cabinet provided space for engravings such as initials or coats of arms.

Inside the lockable box is a removable étagère containing four carafes and 15 liqueur glasses.
All the glasses are finely painted with foliage and tendrils.

Condition:
The box has been carefully restored.
The glasses and carafes are in very good original condition. Of the original 16 glasses, 15 remain. The carafes are complete.
