Birch
Biedermeier around 1825
Dimensions: H x W x D: 151 x 99 x 46 cm
Description:
Strictly cubist piece of furniture in veneered birch on solid block feet.
Two large drawers in the lower section.
Above this is the writing flap. Inside we see six drawers of different sizes, two letter compartments and a central door with a slanted roof.
Above the writing section there is another drawer. The top of the piece of furniture is simply stepped.
Interior handles and key escutcheons inlaid in dark contrasting wood.
Condition:
Restored condition ready for living. Shellac hand polish. The drawers are only veneered on the outside, which has caused the fronts of the two large drawers to become somewhat rounded. This does not affect the function. All drawers are smooth-running, the runners have been straightened.
The two letter compartments have been added later. They are removable, so they can be easily removed if you don't like them.
Price: This secretary is no longer available. Similar objects in my shop are priced at around 4500,- € to 5500,- €.
