Cherry tree
Biedermeier around 1830
Dimensions: H x W x D: 176 x 100 x 50 cm
Description:
Single door Biedermeier cabinet in cherry veneer with a dreamlike mirrored laid grain pattern.
The piece of furniture stands on block feet. Two massive half columns on the outside with capitals and bases of finely embossed brass.
The door of the cabinet is visually designed in such a way that at first glance the piece of furniture could be mistaken for a high chest of drawers with several drawers on top of each other. Hence the furniture designation "Blender".
There is an actual drawer above the door.
The top is finished off by a slightly overhanging profile moulding and the top panel, which is also veneered from above.
If we open the door, we see the interior, which consists of four height-adjustable boards. We also see the original lock on the inside of the door, which has been placed centrally so as not to disturb the outer symmetry of the cabinet.
The sides of the cabinet are also neatly mirror veneered. The back wall consists of two individually grooved elements.
The colour and "depth" of the cherry wood is absolutely fantastic!
Condition:
Restored and immaculate condition with beautiful age patina. The shellac polish gives the cherry wood an incredible strength. The cabinet has also been cleaned from the inside and "soaked" with shellac. The drawer runs smoothly, the lock works.
Price: This piece of furniture is already sold.
