Beautiful and very elegant harp from the workshop of the famous harp and piano maker Sebastian Erard.
So-called double pedal harp with 43 strings.

The foot, the column and the head of the instrument are decorated with stucco work and gilded. Depicted are winged mythical creatures, angels playing the lyre, palmettes, fluting and figural friezes.

The neck, the body and the soundboard are coloured to imitate precious wood. The soundbox can be opened by pedal to unfold the sound.
The signature: Sebastian Erard as well as the serial number 3748 can be found in the upper part of the neck. The number indicates that the instrument was made in 1825.

Sebastian Erard is considered the most famous harp maker of the 19th century and the inventor of the double pedal harp.

Condition: Refurbished, restringed and ready to play.
