Top secretary "Amor and Erato

Description:
Pear and birch veneered on softwood.
Two-part corpus standing on block feet. Slightly protruding central risalit.
Two large drawers above the straight plinth.

Above them a folding writing surface. Top veneered in pearwood and mahogany with fine surrounding thread inlay in maple and ebony. Interior veneered in birch root, mahogany and fire shaded maple. Also thread inlays in maple and ebony. Central lockable door with drawer above flanked by two pilasters in solid birch root. On the left and right an open compartment divided into two parts. Below that, five drawers, four of them with brass knobs, one with compartmentalisation, another with a double bottom.

Above the writing section, another drawer that can be used as a standing desk when the front is folded down.

Top with central oval door and integrated oil painting. Cupid is depicted as a putto with a love torch. Erato, the muse of poetry, especially love poetry with her typical attribute, the lyre, is facing him. Door flanked by alabaster semi-columns with brass bases and also brass, Corinthian capitals. Two mirrored doors on the outside.
Head finial with curved arches and multiple moulded cornice.
