Biedermeier around 1830
Dimensions: H x W x D: 220 x 164 x 39 cm
Description:
Quite fantastic and exceptional Biedermeier bookcase with wonderful authentic patina.
Two-door piece of furniture standing on a plinth.
The doors each have a closed panel at the bottom and two glazed areas above with long porticoes ending in gothic pointed arches at the top.
The doors are flanked by flat, rectilinear pilasters with capitals carved as foliage.
The key escutcheons are cartouche inlaid in ebony.
Inside the piece of furniture there are five shelves adjustable in height via a toothed rail.
The headboard is covered with strong veneer panels, certainly 5 mm thick, the cornice is profiled several times and protrudes about 7 cm.
The piece of furniture has an absolutely fantastic patina, a colour tone like this is not created by staining, but grows and develops only over years and decades to this perfection. Traces of usage and use were deliberately left in the wood and preserved.
Condition: Authentic and restored condition suitable for everyday use.
