Bronze
Neo-Gothic c. 1870-1890
Description:
Magnificently decorated clock with gilded neo-Gothic motifs on a patinated ground.
The two-tiered base is decorated with quatrefoils in lancet windows.
The golden dial is mounted in a stele above a water basin. A mythical sea creature acts as a fountain, a twisted and turning glass rod visually represents the water jet. The jet is reflected in the polished water basin and makes the movement of the water appear real.
A muse plays the lyre at the fountain.
Very beautiful quality of the bronzes and gilding.
Eight-day movement with thread suspension and chiming disc movement with strike on bell on the half and full hour.
Breguet hands, dial with Roman hours.
Condition: Cleaned and refurbished. Movement and automaton are running perfectly.
Price: This clock is no longer available.
