Description:
Quite exceptional and extremely rare solid mahogany writing desk with sophisticated mechanism.
On four conical pointed legs in brass sabots standing side table with high table frame.
By opening the two halves of the tabletop, a secretary part automatically rises. This function is made possible by an ingenious system of neatly crafted brass.
The secretary section itself has a sloping, leather-covered writing surface, under which there is a larger compartment for storing writing papers. At the back there are compartments for pens, inkware and writing utensils.
There is a tray pull-out below the frame.
Condition:
Restored and polished with shellac. The mechanism and the lock work perfectly. (see video)
