Description:
Exceptional wooden box, so-called travelling secretary.
When closed, we see a simple box made of solid oak with brass handles on the sides.
If we open the lid upwards, the front part can be folded down. A drawer with ink and grit containers, held under tension by pressure springs, now moves forward automatically. The folded-down part can now be folded forward again, creating a writing and working surface covered with black leather.
The main part of the box is equipped with various letter compartments. There are also three small drawers, pen holders and a calendar that can be operated by hand.
The lock has a manufacturer's embossing: Bramah London.
