Interesting facts:
In the Biedermeier period, the veneer pattern was used to enliven the two-dimensionality.
All other conceptual elements of this piece of furniture are subordinate to it. The vivid grain gives the Biedermeier furniture the appearance of a self-contained, form-reduced structure. The shellac polish also intensifies the dynamics of the veneer.
The more elaborate the veneer, the wealthier the purchaser usually was.
