Dimensions: H x W x D: 82 x 103 x 50 cm
Description:
Three-tier Biedermeier chest of drawers veneered in birch.
The round, ebonised feet serve as bases for the dominant three-quarter columns on the pilaster strips. The capitals, which are also blackened, support the two-tiered top panel, which follows the shape of the columns at the front and is rounded.
The arrangement and design of the drawers is typical of the North German Biedermeier style. The top and bottom drawers protrude beyond the body, while the front of the centre drawer is inserted flush with the surface. The geometric segmentation and the use of flamed birch wood are also typical of the period and region.
Condition: Refurbished and polished with shellac.
