Walnut
Biedermeier around 1825
Dimensions: H x W x D: 91 x 113 x 57 cm
Description:
A three-bowl piece of furniture standing on original, tapered round feet.
We see a beautiful grain pattern of the figured walnut, which is very rare in this strong expression, running through the entire furniture front. The highly decorative character of the wood is determined by wavy stripes, the so-called bars, which are aligned transversely to the grain. Because of the flame-like light-dark iridescent appearance, we also speak of "flamed walnut".
The two drawers at the bottom spring back discreetly. The flanking solid columns blend harmoniously into the carcase and form the supports for the head drawer above.
The hollowed, ebonised profile moulding below the top plate contrasts beautifully with the warm shade of the wood.
Condition:
Ready to live in, restored condition suitable for everyday use. Shellac hand polish. The drawers run cleanly and smoothly, the locks work.
