Description:
Three-piece piece of furniture in elm (elm) burl wood veneered on oak with exceptionally beautiful inlays.
In the lower section we find three large drawers.
Above this, behind a cylinder lock, is the secretary's compartment with a leather-covered writing surface that can be set up at an angle, with a drawer to the left and right of each. Above this we see a 10-piece interior, veneered in birch, mahogany and maple. Drawers with fine fillet banding all around. The middle door, like the flanking drawers, is decorated with fine marquetry. Ancient Greek scenes are depicted. The centre drawers and compartments can be opened by secret mechanisms. Further secret compartments are found behind the central interior.
The top consists of two covex and one concave recessed door, as well as a central flap compartment.
Behind the flap, which can also be used as a standing desk, there are further finely designed little drawers.
The top is stepped and has a recessed Schinkel roof.
Original locks, escutcheons in ebony.
Condition:
Excellent restored condition, shellac hand polish, worm free.
