Bronze gilt
Empire around 1815

Dimensions: H x W x D: 35 x 25 x 12 cm

Description:
Pedestal standing on bell feet with applied musical instruments held by festoons and garlands.

Standing on the pedestal we see a young woman dressed in an antique robe. Looking at the music stand next to her, she is playing the flute.
The lady has slightly advanced her left knee. The natural-looking drapery and the slightly lowered gaze create a lively effect of the figure. The elaborate elaboration of the updo underlines the great skill of bronzier and chaser.

The French pendulum movement with lock disc striking mechanism and thread suspension of the pendulum is set into the stele to the left of the figure. The enamelled dial with black Roman numerals and Breguet hands is surrounded by fine musical instruments and sheet music cast in bronze.
The clock strikes a bell on the half and full hour.

Condition:
Very nice condition. The movement has been thoroughly cleaned and overhauled. It runs perfectly and reliably.
