Description:
Two-tier chest of drawers with fine carved decoration, created in German classicism, the so-called "Zopfstil".
The piece of furniture stands on tall, fluted square legs tapering downwards.
The drawers are worked "sans travers" and are dominated by a veneer surface extending over both drawers. The wildly grained walnut wood is laid absolutely symmetrically and framed by thread inlays. The marquetry flowers set into the corner spandrels are carved onto the skirting board and the pilaster strips.
The top and sides of the piece of furniture are similar in design to the front.
