Birch
Biedermeier around 1835
Dimensions: H x W x D: 92 x 89 x 44 cm
Description:
Three-drawer piece of furniture standing on ebonised pointed legs. The drawer fronts are veneered in flamed birch, the carcass parts are made of solid birch.
The middle drawer is slightly recessed and flanked by small half-columns. The blackened so-called Brunswick arch dominates the centre of the drawer.
The upper drawer conceals a small secretary compartment with five small drawers. Folding down the front creates a horizontal surface that can be used as a writing surface.
The wide, blackened top is unusual, as is the top plate, which is closed by a secret mechanism and can be opened upwards.
Condition: Refinished condition, visible age patina.
Price: This chest of drawers is already sold. I offer comparable pieces for 2700,-€ to 3200,-€.
