Walnut
Baroque around 1760
Dimensions: H x W x D: 81 x 113 x 63 cm
Description:
Gorgeous baroque chest of drawers with beautiful proportions and fantastic marquetry work.
Walnut veneered on softwood.
Three-bay chest of drawers standing on squeeze feet.
The front is double curved, the top follows this form. The skirting board and the edge of the top protrude slightly.
The drawers are geometrically fielded by wide strips of plum wood. In addition, we see narrow thread inlays of maple.
The fittings in the Louis XVI manner match the straight-lined, already classicistic marquetry.
All the drawer corner joints are neatly dovetailed.
The all-round edge of the top panel is veneered with straight-grained walnut, the structure of the wood matching that of the front and side of the chest of drawers. At the corners, as on the front and sides, the veneer is mitred.
The rectilinear inlay work of the front and sides is also found on the top plate.
Condition:
Restored condition ready for living. The drawers run well and smoothly, the locks work perfectly.
Price: This chest of drawers is already sold. I offer similar models for about 5000,-€ to 6000,-€.
