Description:
Solid birch wood and veneered. Basic construction in softwood.
Typical Swedish very low secretary height.
Almost square front with three drawers and the top flap.
Semi-circular legs, keeping the shape, merging into the pilaster strips and ending with the rounded top plate.
24-piece interior. On the outside, five drawers on top of each other. A door in the centre flanked by five drawers on the right and left, two drawers on the top and one drawer on the bottom.
Points of interest:
Swedish secretaries of this period are usually very similar. The height is always approximately the same and also the division of the interior usually differs only minimally.
Solid birch wood is also typical of the area, in Germany it would have been more likely to be veneered, which would make the wood appear more "flamed".
