Dimensions: Height from 80 - 120 cm, work surface: 89 x 53 cm

Description:
Height-adjustable piece of furniture that may have served as a writing and drawing table or as a lectern. Solid walnut, stained dark.

The two sides of the piece of furniture are connected at the bottom by a plate.
A hollow, vertical squared timber is located in the centre of the plate, which serves to hold the wooden threaded rod that can be used to adjust the height of the table. Two wing nuts on the inside of the cheeks are used to lock the table at the desired height.
To adjust the inclination of the table top, a locking mechanism on the left-hand side is released. The table top can now be brought into the desired position. The cast-iron system that makes this adjustment possible is labelled DEPOSE PARIS BERNE BREVETE S.C.D.G. PATENT.

There is a small ceramic barrel for the nib on the right-hand side.

The piece of furniture was made by the Geneva furniture manufacturer A. Mauchain, who specialised in the production of back-friendly writing and school furniture.
There is a corresponding manufacturer's label on the back of the table.

Condition: Original condition with visible signs of age and use. Stable, suitable for everyday use and in perfect working order.
